We Are Not God's Editors

We should strive to be God's messengers, not God's editors.

In today's United States of America, we have a lot of different churches and a lot of different denominations. One Upstate South Carolina county alone has about 250 churches. The thought occurred to me wondering how many are truly teaching the word of God. Christians should look for instructions from the Bible. It is our source of knowledge, and it is the word of God.

2 Timothy 3:16 says, "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness." That means, all scripture is inspired by God. It says ALL of it, not part of it. It's all good for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.

So, we should strive to be God's messengers. Bring God's word to those around you. And, by all means, don't be like many churches and say something is ok if the Bible expressly says it isn't. Please pay attention to the warning given in Revelation 22:18-19... For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

We are God's messengers. We are not God's editors!
