Picking Winners for Week 1 in the NFL
It's finally time for NFL football! Here is how I see Week 1 going with comments on some of the games.
New England Patriots at Seattle Seahawks Seattle, and they won.
San Francisco vs. Los Angeles Rams in Melbourne Los Angeles Rams, but they lost.
New York Jets at Tennessee Titans Tennessee. Maybe!
Buffalo Bills at Houston Texans Buffalo. This will be a hard fought game. The last two trips to Houston have been losses for Buffalo, and the Texans defense has very much rattled Josh Allen. It could happen again, but I think the Bills, with extra preparation time, will have just enough to win.
Baltimore Ravens at Indianapolis Colts Baltimore.
Cleveland Browns at Jacksonville Jaguars Jacksonville.
Atlanta Falcons at Pittsburgh Steelers Pittsburgh. The Falcons have quarterback issues. Michael Penix is not ready to play from last year’s injury, and Tua Tagovailoa has an oblique injury. So, Cooper Rush will start this game. He’s not awful, but I don’t see the Falcons winning on the road.
Chicago Bears at Carolina Panthers Chicago. This game will likely be closer than most think.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Cincinnati Bengals Cincinnati.
New Orleans Saints at Detroit Lions Detroit. If the Lions are going to win their division, they will take care of this home opening game. Don’t underestimate the Saints. If the Lions don’t have a good game, they could be in trouble.
Green Bay Packers at Minnesota Vikings Minnesota. Along with the Bills at Texans game, this one is the toughest for me to choose a winner this week. The Vikings are a much better team than their record has shown recently, but their quarterback play has been so bad that they couldn’t win many games. Kyler Murray should be better, but this is his first game with his new team. It’s pretty much a toss up.
Arizona Cardinals at Los Angeles Chargers Los Angeles Chargers.
Washington Commanders at Philadelphia Eagles Philadelphia. There’s always a huge upset. It won’t be this one, will it?!
Miami Dolphins at Las Vegas Raiders Las Vegas. I don’t think the Dolphins have much of a team this year.
Dallas Cowboys at New York Giants Dallas. Anything can happen in Week 1. However, the Cowboys have kind of owned the Giants in New York unless the Giants just have a better team. The two teams are closer in talent this year, but I think the Cowboys might have a very slight edge.
Denver Broncos at Kansas City Chiefs Kansas City. We will see if the Chiefs are ready to return to the top of the AFC West after a one year absence or if someone else will take their place again this year. I know Patrick Mahomes is coming off of his first severe injury, but this is opening night in Arrowhead. This game will tell a lot about how the AFC West goes this year.
May God always be your number 1 draft pick!
