Picking Winners for Week 16 in the NFL

Draftman Rick

The NFL regular season is coming to a close in early January, so most of these games really matter. Here are my winners for this week.

Denver Broncos at Los Angeles Chargers Los Angeles Chargers. If the Chargers are good enough to beat Denver in Denver, then they are good enough to win this game in Los Angeles.

Houston Texans at Kansas City Chiefs Kansas City. It looks like Patrick Mahomes will play on a sore ankle. The offensive line needs to do a better job for him because he will not have as much mobility as he usually does to escape the pocket.

Pittsburgh Steelers at Baltimore Ravens Baltimore. The Steelers seem to have the Ravens number with several consecutive wins. However, I think that stops with Lamar Jackson getting in the end zone more than Russell Wilson.

Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Commanders Philadelphia. The Eagles want the number 1 seed in the NFC. They have very little chance of that due to Detroit and Minnesota both having a tie-breaker edge over them, but their coaches won't tell them, so I think they will give full effort again this week.

Arizona Cardinals at Carolina Panthers Arizona. I really thought the Panthers would break through against Dallas last week, but they reverted to junk football. If they play as well against Arizona as they did the two games before the Dallas game, they will probably win, but I can't predict that after seeing last week.

Detroit Lions at Chicago Bears Detroit. The Bears will give the Lions a good game, but they can't match the Lions score for score.

New York Giants at Atlanta Falcons Atlanta. It's time to start the Michael Penix era in Atlanta. Good thing for him that the Giants are the opponent!

Tennessee Titans at Indianapolis Colts Indianapolis. If Jonathan Taylor holds onto the football until AFTER he crosses the goal line this week, the Colts should squeak by the Titans. Although, Mason Rudolph will be an improvement at quarterback over Will Levis.

Cleveland Browns at Cincinnati Bengals Cincinnati. The Bengals hold onto very faint hopes of making the playoffs, so they will give much more effort than the Browns.

Los Angeles Rams at New York Jets Los Angeles Rams. The Rams are playing very good football and have a good chance to win their division. The Jets are playing better but don't have anything to play for but pride.

Minnesota Vikings at Seattle Seahawks Minnesota. The Seahawks were embarrassed against the Packers last week on national TV. The Vikings will likely perform the same trick to them this week.

New England Patriots at Buffalo Bills Buffalo. Do you really need any further explanation?

San Francisco 49ers at Miami Dolphins San Francisco. This game is a tough one for me to pick, but I think the pride of the 49ers will carry them to a good effort against the Dolphins.

Jacksonville Jaguars at Las Vegas Raiders Las Vegas. In the battle for the number 1 draft pick, if you win, you lose in this game. If the Raiders win, they might hand over the right to pick Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders in the April draft, but the Raiders can't do anything right, so they will probably win this home game.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Dallas Cowboys Tampa Bay. This one is simple. The Cowboys defense will not be able to stop the Buccaneers offense very many times.

New Orleans Saints at Green Bay Packers Green Bay. Can we flex a different game for this one on Monday night? I'm a diehard NFL fan. I'll watch any two teams play each other, but this game will try my patience as the Packers will have it locked up by halftime.

May God always be your number 1 draft pick!
