Picking A Winner for the Super Bowl

Super Bowl LX (60) is Sunday, February 8. It's the Seattle Seahawks vs. the New England Patriots. Here's how I see it going.

The Seahawks are a rather handsome favorite in this game. The point spread is 4.5 in favor of Seattle. Their defense deserves respect. Their offense deserves respect in the confines of their home field in Seattle, but I don't see too much flash when they are away from home.

The Patriots defense is a solid unit. They don't allow much of anyone to run the ball against them. Teams can try to pass, but the Patriots are pretty good at stopping that, too. The Patriots offense was good throughout the year but has kind of stunk in the playoffs. There's a good reason for that. They opened the playoffs by playing the Chargers whose defense has been excellent this year. They played the Houston Texans next. If you ask me the Texans EASILY had the best defense going into the playoffs. They were shutting down everybody, and I mean everybody. Then, the Patriots played the Broncos in Denver. The Broncos allowed the second fewest yards in the NFL behind only Houston. That game was played in a blizzard in the second half. So, no wonder the Patriot offense has not looked good.

The Patriots won every game they played away from home. I know the Patriots faced a weak schedule this regular season, but winning all of your road games is extremely hard to do. One of those wins was at Buffalo.

I can see this game going one of two ways. Either Seattle blows out the Patriots or the Patriots win a close one. A ton of people think the Patriots are not in the class of Seattle. Since this game is not in Seattle, I disagree. I'll take the Patriots to win a close one.

May God always be your number 1 draft pick!
