Something Smells Fishy with Tom Brady
Verse for today...
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:1
Tom Brady is currently not practicing with his Tampa Bay teammates. He has left the team to attend to a non-football related personal matter and won't return for about 10 days. He has the team's blessing to be away. For the first day or two, people didn't really have a clue as to why he was out, but they assumed he would take care of the matter and return as soon as possible. Earlier today, many folks on sports talk shows said it is nothing to worry about and that Tom doesn't need the extra practice. Around midday, I heard that it was likely a sick relative, maybe his mother. She has had cancer in the past. That seemed very reasonable to me.
Earlier tonight, I heard Ian Rapoport say that it appears no relative is sick. That got me to thinking. Brady is as committed as they come. If Rapoport is right, then what else could cause Brady to miss time with his team? I came up with three reasons. 1) A nuclear holocaust has occurred. 2) Jesus has returned. 3) Gisele has run off with Jets QB Zach Wilson. Now, I'm pretty sure number 1 hasn't happened, and I sincerely hope number 2 hasn't happened, else I got left out! My money was on number 3, but then I remembered that the 23-year-old Wilson was last rumored to have hooked up with his mother's best friend which means Gisele is a bit too young for him!
So, something is indeed fishy with this situation. Brady spends countless hours studying football and making sure every detail is ironed out, and I mean every detail. He makes sure his players are giving their best effort at all times. He's been known to practice with his wide receivers when practice was not allowed due to COVID-19. Brady missing time in the middle of preseason is diametrically opposed to everything he has stood for, so I think whatever it is must be very, very serious. Is he thinking again about retiring? It sounds very fishy to me. It might be nothing like that, but if it is, you heard it here first.
May God always be your number 1 draft pick!
