Verse for today... Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Cor. 5:17
It's the final week of the season but first week of the new year. It's a tricky week because some teams will rest starters if they have nothing to play for. I have taken all factors into account, so here are the winners.
Cleveland Browns at Baltimore Ravens Baltimore. This was the easiest pick of the year. The Browns are awful, and the Ravens needed this game to make sure they won the division.
Cincinnati Bengals at Pittsburgh Steelers Pittsburgh, but they lost.
Houston Texans at Tennessee Titans Tennessee. The Texans have nothing to play for and will probably rest a few people while the Titans might have Will Levis back at quarterback. He's not very good but slightly better than their other options.
Carolina Panthers at Atlanta Falcons Atlanta. The Falcons must win and hope Tampa Bay loses for them to make the playoffs. The Falcons should do their part.
New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles Philadelphia. The Eagles are resting their good players. It probably still won't matter. The Giants are very bad.
Buffalo Bills at New England Patriots Buffalo. The Bills have nothing to gain, but they will probably win anyway. They are just a better team.
New Orleans Saints at Tampa Bay Buccaneers Tampa Bay. The Buccaneers should hammer the Saints from start to finish.
Chicago Bears at Green Bay Packers Green Bay. The Packers do not want to fall to the 7 seed and have to go to Philadelphia.
Washington Commanders at Dallas Cowboys Washington. The Commanders will try to pay the Cowboys back for beating them about a month ago in Washington. They have the quarterback to do it.
Jacksonville Jaguars at Indianapolis Colts Indianapolis. The Jaguars aren't good enough to beat anyone on the road.
Kansas City Chiefs at Denver Broncos Denver. The Chiefs are resting almost all of their starters. Denver needs to win to get into the playoffs.
Los Angeles Chargers at Las Vegas Raiders Los Angeles Chargers. The Chargers might move up to the number 5 seed if Pittsburgh loses. If they have that motivation, they should win.
Miami Dolphins at New York Jets New York Jets. The Dolphins are probably without Tua, and I think Aaron Rodgers has one more good game in him.
Seattle Seahawks at Los Angeles Rams Seattle. Normally, the Rams would beat the Seahawks in Los Angeles, but the Rams have nothing to gain and will probably rest starters.
San Francisco 49ers at Arizona Cardinals Arizona. This is a fitting end to the season for the 49ers who are just a shell of their former selves.
Minnesota Vikings at Detroit Lions Detroit. They saved the best for last. These teams are both 14-2. The winner gets the number 1 seed in the NFC and can rest nest week with a bye in the first round of the playoffs. The loser goes on the road to the NFC South winner which is likely Tampa Bay. I think the Lions will simply score on so many drives that the Vikings can't quite catch up in a great game.
May God always be your number 1 draft pick!
